Musical Theatre Workshops
The musical theatre group is open to everyone and you don't need to have any previous experience with musicals, singing, or be able to read music. Sessions will start in mid-September and run at least until Christmas. If there is enough interest, we will continue the sessions in 2022.
The sessions will be organised and run by Oli, the current ZEST Publicity Manager. Oli has a lot of experience as a musical director, singer, and musician and hopes he can help you learn and improve your singing, notation reading, and vocal confidence.
Currently, there is no particular goal that we will work towards, but there will certainly be options for us to perform for those who want to - perhaps in the form of a musical review evening or a musical in the future produced by ZEST. For the first few sessions, we will work on some ensemble songs together and then decide how to progress from there.
As is customary with Monday nights and Improv, the dates and times will be posted on this page and each post will include information about which song(s) we will be learning so that you can familiarise yourselves with the lyrics, melodies, or musicals if you wish. Sheet music and lyrics will also be provided for you to print and bring or open on your phone - please check the links in the calendar on this page. Please also bring a pencil to make notes!

Musical theatre workshops are open to anyone and count towards your membership session count. For more information on membership, see the membership page. Subscribe to our members and newcomers newsletter and tick the Musical Theatre category to get updates of upcoming sessions.
For the safety of our members, the committee have decided that all attendees to all in-person events will be checked in by the event organiser using the Swiss 'COVID Certificate Check App'. Please make sure you bring your QR code either printed or on your phone to be checked in. If everyone who attends is comfortable doing so, we will sing without masks. If anyone attending is not comfortable singing without masks, then we will all sing with masks (it does work, we've done it plenty recently). We have booked large rooms at the Theater im Seefeld for all sessions, so space should not be an issue. All sessions will be subject to the capacity limits set out by the Kirchgemeindehaus Neumünster, which ZEST must abide by - for this reason, all in-person events will be first-come-first-served, so we apologise if we have to turn people away if there are too many attendees at any given session.
